Diesel prices are at an all-time high in GermanyDiesel price at its highest level since 2012

Diesel is more expensive than ever at petrol stations in Germany and fuel prices have been rising for months. In October, a litre of diesel already cost an average of €1.56 in Germany as reported by one of Germany's automobile news sources. This was primarily driven by the rise in the price of oil after last year's Corona slump.

Diesel theft quickly turns into a considerable cost factorDiesel theft – a growing problem

With the rising diesel prices, the number of thefts too is increasing drastically.

The most frequently affected companies suffering from diesel theft are in the transport industry, such as haulage companies, in the construction industry and in agriculture. Frequently, not only the diesel is stolen, but the vehicles are also damaged in the process.

Diesel is an important economic component for many businesses and diesel theft quickly turns into a considerable cost factor. The perpetrators range from petty criminals to organised gangs and even company employees. Due to a lack of alternatives, vehicles and machines are often parked on unguarded sites or car parks at night, something thieves are more than happy to exploit.

High cost factor for impacted companies

With tank capacities of 150 litres up to 1000 litres for large, articulated semi-trailers, costs of 200-1500€ can quickly add up in the event of a theft! On top of that, there is possible damage to vehicles and property as well as organisational troubles and hassle with police and insurance companies.

Generally, enterprises are left to pay for damages caused by diesel theft on their own. As a rule, diesel theft is not usually covered by insurance and the insurance policies only apply in the event of theft of the entire vehicle or of fixed parts.

Effective protection against diesel theft with TSI's tank level monitoring system

Protect your fuel tank with TSI's fuel level monitoring

Tank level control

With the fuel level monitoring in TSI Fleetmanager, you are instantly alerted if fuel levels drop abnormally quickly.

Ultrasonic liquid sensor is simply glued non-destructively to the underside of the tank. The basis is an ultrasonic liquid sensor. In contrast to conventional tank level indicators, this sensor does not require installation inside the tank, but is simply non-destructively glued to the outside underneath. This eliminates the need to drill holes in the tank and potentially cause damage due to leaks. In addition, fill levels are measured continuously, completely independent of the engine and even when the vehicle is parked or switched off.

No chance for thieves

Alarm messages are sent immediately by the TSI fleet management system, either by SMS or e-mail, to appropriate recipients or to security and emergency control centres. Immediate and timely intervention is thus assured.

Tank level monitoring is just one of the many flexible and versatile monitoring and alerting functions of TSI Fleetmanager. Monitoring of the entire fleet including theft protection for vehicles and cargo, temperature monitoring for refrigerated transports or alerting when leaving areas or arriving at destinations are all also included and can be customised individually for your specific tasks.

React ahead of damage with TSI!
